November 28, 2017 Board Meeting Agenda Item #44 Title APPROVAL OF DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACT WITH McINTYRE ELWELL & STRAMMER GENERAL CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE SARASOTA MIDDLE SCHOOL-ADMINISTRATION BUILDING SECURITY & FENCING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT Description Provide construction services of new security fencing and remodeling of the administration building reception area. The security fencing includes installation of aluminum gates with panic door hardware, aluminum fence and chain link fence. The interior work in the administration reception area includes rebuilding of the existing reception area walls, replacement of the front counter millwork and installation of impact resistant interior and exterior doors with access control at the Sarasota Middle School campus. This contract has been approved by the School Board attorney and is available for review at the Construction Services Department. Funds for this project are contained in the 2017/18 Safety, Security & Emergency Management Department budget, projects 3670-Fencing and 4014-Security Single Point of Entry. Recommendation That the Design-Build Contract for the Sarasota Middle School-Administration Building Security & Fencing Construction project be approved as presented.
